KENT M. WALKER

He litigates patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and related cases in Federal and state courts, administrative bodies and before arbitration panels. Kent Walker negotiates licensing agreements covering patents, trademarks, copyrights, know- how and trade secrets, provides patent infringement opinions, conducts patent and trademark searches and counsels clients in connection with all intellectual property matters, including transactions.
Mr. Walker is the founder and managing partner of the Law Office of Kent M. Walker and proudly represents San Diego as one of the city’s top intellectual property attorneys (2007, 2009 and 2010 Southern California Top Super Lawyers-Intellectual Property Litigation category).
Mr. Walker is an aggressive, successful trial attorney. He has been litigation counsel in a variety of patent, trademark and copyright litigation cases for high technology clients. He has represented telecommunications and biotechnology firms, as well as clients in the manufacturing, video game hardware, analog integrated circuits, semiconductor processing, software, publishing and sporting equipment fields.
He has also provided counsel to entertainment industry clients in connection with music, film and the arts. Kent Walker assists his clients to protect their rights in the entertainment field. Mr. Walker is well prepared to address, anticipate and resolve legal matters that affect his clients' paths to professional and business achievement.
Prior to founding the Law Office of Kent M. Walker, Mr. Walker was an Intellectual Property Litigation Partner for the law firm of Nydegger and Associates. Mr. Walker was a Partner and head of the San Diego Trademark, Advertising & Copyright practice group with the firm of Cooley, Godward and Kronish LLP; and was an associate attorney at the Los Angeles intellectual property and entertainment law firm of Fischbach, Perlstein, Lieberman and Yanny; was also a law clerk in the Civil Defense branch of the L.A. City Attorney's Office and an Industrial Engineer with the Southern California Gas Company.
Kent received a J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 1994. He received a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1986 where he was selected as one of the Top Five graduating seniors in Engineering.
Mr. Walker is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Central, Northern and Eastern Districts of California, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Federal and Ninth Circuits and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Litigation examples include: representing wireless telephone manufacturers in defense of telecommunication patent claims; automated telephone call processing system patent holders against multiple defendants; disease diagnostics companies in patent litigation and commercial arbitration; graphics chip manufacturing in patent defenses; drug discovery companies in jury trial over patent litigation; defending record company copyright claims; and representing local and state government in criminal trial prosecution.
